Wigs for Kids

My new "do"!

I decided it was finally time to change my hairstyle a bit. While doing so I made a 12" contribution to Wigs for Kids, an organization that makes wigs and gives them to children who have lost their hair due to various medical conditions such as loss from radiation or chemo and alopecia. Here is the before and after photos, the one int hte middle is my hairstylist and me holding the cuit off ponytails. We had to make 2 beacause my hair is too thick to cut straight through.

We went to see "Camelot" at the 5th Ave Theatre last night, it was a lot of fun to go out with my new hairstyle :)

Happy Easter Everyone!

For He has Risen and saved us from our sins and welcomes us to the Fathers House!

God Bless!

Home Renovation; Part 1

The Painting started with the bathroom, but first I had to texture the walls, so that it matched the rest of the house... Let me tell you there are good user friendly textures and then there are evil mean textures. Unfortunatly my lack of knowledge in this area caused me to choose the wrong one. It took three days and 3 cans of texture to finish our bathroom. Never again will I use the evil orange peel texture!
I had to tape over everything to keep it safe from texture and paint, it made the bathroom a bit awkward.
Dan is the first to put paint on the walls! Gone is the floral print and with a warm neautral that will match any decor I desire. For now it will go with lighter tans and deep rust red.
Joy helps me tape of the kitchen, dining room and living room, since Dan doesn't want her to do a lot of painting while she is carrying the kids :) Next up, we paint the kitchn!

A Beach Story

Jonathan I got to go on an adventure with Grandad and Grandma Theo!

We spent the day in and around Canon Beach, exploring the area in the same kind of weather that Lewis and Clark experienced when they first discovered the Pacific. It rained the entire day, only letting up for a minute. We enjoyed demonstrations at the glass blowers shop and found some lovely lace curtains for Grandma's house. We ate lunch at Canon beach and checked out the stormy waves. We also visited Fort Stevens to see the shipwreck and the jetty as well as Fort Clatsop.

Grandad and Granma were smart enough to watch the waves from a distance while Jonathan and I jumped out for a closer look. I ended up quite wet from head to toe and was very glad when we all got to eat dinner together in Astoria. It rained incessantly on the drive home and I am quite thankful that we got to go on our trip by way of motorcar and not on foot or even horseback. All in all I do believe that we all had a wonderful time, and I can't wait for another chance to visit with everyone!
Enjoy the rest of the photos!

Rain Wind and Waves!

We had quite the adventure at Canon Beach, the wind carried the tops of the waves away and whisked the sand down the shore...

I had vever seen such magnificent waves before this fun trip

The sand was a mix of dark and light.

It was too cold to get very close to Haystack Rock, see the sand running across the shore?

Rainy Day at the Beach

Jonathan and Grandad at the Fort that Lewis and Clark Stayed in

The Shipwreck amidst huge waves!

Jonathan and I ran up to the jetty to check out the waves... we couldn't look at the ocean without the spray cutting our face!

We ended the evening at Baked Alaska, a restaraunt on the Astorian Waterfront, it was dry and warm and had great food!
