Happy Days

Went to pick up Levi Today, and ended up spending the day at my parents house, David go to spend time with Grandma, and Grandpa too once he arrived home. Even had some fun with Aunt Julie and a minute with Uncle Bug :) Levi, now home is as lazy as he has ever been, having exhausted all his energy playing with the dogs at Mom and Dad's. Enjoy the super cute pics I took while we visited!
God Bless :)

Gingerbread Houses

Hello,
Had a wonderful time this weekend visiting Longview and building our gingerbread houses together. Laura, Teresa, Grandma Ruth, Rosie and I all put together gingerberad creations. Rosie gets prizes for fastest learning beginner, EVER! not only did she finish hers first, but it was beautiful and creative... I loved her embellishments she piped on the angles of the house and all the fun details in the yard. Grandma Ruth made a large Christmas tree covered in edible ornaments and Laura made a lakehouse that was very creative. Teresa made the Turtle River Inn, complete with a romantic covered bridge going over the river. I designed my own pattern off of a photo to make my Christmas Colonial house with large Candy cane pillars. It turned out beautifully and I am glad that I got it finished and that it arrived safely home :) Please enjoy the photos... and sorry I dont have pics of Grandma's or Rosie's but my camera didn't get unpacked until after they had left. I am sure you can find photos at one of the other blogs :)
God Bless!

By Special Request...

Hello Fans!
Sorry I haven't updated in so very long, life has been going on around here. We had Jan and Laura up to make Christmas ornaments (way fun) I have had fun making them lately :) Dressed David up on Halloween, so he could sit next to the giant bowl of candy we had for trick-or-treaters- so cute, he loved the shiny wrappers. We visited Dan, Joy, Grace and Isaiah- quite enjoyable David and I managed to slip out of the house a few times for walks between rain showers, we are are feeling nice and sane. This week have been baking gingerbread and filling windows so we are ready to build upon our arrival in Longview, can't wait to see all of our amazing creations. Mostly I know you just want pics of David, so please enjoy... oh and he smacks his lips now and thinks its the coolest thing when grown-ups copy what he does and the sounds he makes, lol.

Yesterday David and I went back for a fun fall photo shoot :) I hope you enjoy this cute selection of photos ... I really like the one of his arm around his pumpkin buddy... and as always, these as well as others taken yesterday are in his web album :)
God Bless ya'll!

Annual Celebration of the Harvest

Hi all! I have lots of great photos from our wonderful day today! We met up with friends at the corn maze, enjoyed some time getting lost and taking photos with all the pumpkins. Back at our place we had lots of fun preparing the food and then eating it :) We had a beef and barley Stew, butternut gratin, candied yams, homemade applesauce, a delectable butternut harvest feta dish, chili with a story and for desert we had pumpkin pie and bread pudding. To top our evening off, David spent quite a bit of time laughing at Carol's peek-a-boo antics, and the day ended on a very happy note :) I hope you enjoy the video of the giggles as well as the photos!
Details of our day include...

The Chili Story:
On the way to our house Aleena and Anna were amazed by how good the homemade chili smelled and couldn't believe how strong it was, Anna said her car had never smelled more delicious. Upon arrival, the discovered the crockpot had tipped over and spilled the majority of the contents in the trunk of the car, and all over the new pumpkins and squash! Shocked, appalled and giggling they came in for towels and plastic bags to clean up the mess, luckily enough of the chili was in the pot for all up us to get a taste... it was a tragic loss indeed, for its flavor and consistency was excellent!

The Forgotten dish:
Ashley, a friend of Anna's also came to the party and brought a yummy concoction of sweet potato and an unidentified green (kale?) both were ingredients that I didn't know I liked, but I was very impressed and delighted with what I tasted. Somehow it didn't get placed on the table, and went undiscovered until after Ashley had left! Those of us still there thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to thank her for her contribution :)

The Maze:
David was adorable in his Tiger costume, and the twins were cuter than you can imagine dresses and Minnie and Mickey mouse! instead of relying on strollers, we simply took turns carrying the kids through the maze... it worked out pretty well and we all had fun :)

We all wore brown:
Oh yeah, once back at the house we realized that Aleena, Joy, Jonathan and I were all wearing brown shirts with jeans! it was kinda funny so we took a picture, sadly Joy isn't in the photo because she and Dan had to get the twins home for bedtime... but we were thinking of her!

Lots of Little cakes

Hey all! Life has been going on here... Friend Dawn's daughter is turning one and I got to make the cakes.. yes I said cakes. we decided it would be cute to have a bunch of little tiered cakes instead of one big one. Little did I know how much time and work would go into making them! Dawn was on hand to help, 2 of the 3 days I spent and she was a life-saver. She kept me company and helped keep David happy while I worked. While the work was hard and everlasting, it is so cool to see them all done, and so very cute, haven't decided yet whether or not I will ever attempt a feat like this again or not. The theme for the cakes was Japanese Cherry trees, so hopefully that's what they look like :) Enjoy the photos.. or and Grandma Ruth- thank you so much for that pastry roller you gave me for Christmas, because there is no way I would have finished these without it! nothing else would roll out the fondant without tearing it!
God Bless you all -- and please pray for us, we are besotted with an unpleasant cold in our heads and noses... thanks!

Ocean Fun

Sunday Morning, after we were packed up and checked out of the resort, Chris, Jan, Laura, Teresa, Jonathan, David and I met up with Grandpa and Grandma and took a stroll out to the beach before heading out. The sun was shining, the tide was coming in and it was beautiful. We enjoyed watching David play in the sand- he ate a bit of it too! I am glad that we got to enjoy the surrounding area, and hope to return there for more a vacation and less of a function someday so that we can really enjoy the beach :) All in all a splendid trip and I thank Tom and Linda for choosing such a wonderful place (and date) to get married :)
God Bless and enjoy the pictures!

Sunset at the Ocean

After the wedding, Chris, Jan and the girls headed out to dinner- David decided not to take a nap and we knew that if we went he would make everyone at the restaurant miserable. So we stayed and played with David, with a promise of a yummy hot dinner for us when everyone got back from the restaraunt. The sunset looked promising so we decided to take David down for his first glimpse of the Ocean! Once we figured out how to get a stroller through the sand, we were all set :) It was a lovely night with a beautiful sunset and it was fun to see David checking it all out for the first time :) Enjoy the photos and God Bless!
