Noteworthy

Hi all, Jonathan and I have been busy!

Wednesday, a real estate agent came over and we talked about selling our condo. We are hoping to find a 3 bedroom place so that we will have room to grow eventually.

Friday, We went to a Twila Paris Concert, it also featured World Vision's Korea Children's Choir. Both were amazing! We picked up a CD from the children's choir, they talent and skill is unbelievable!

Saturday, we drove to Pateros, WA for Hunter's Memorial Service, it went well, and my cousin is doing better than I would be in her shoes. Jonathan and I discussed what wonderful and supportive families we have both been blessed with and know that with the love and support fromour families, we could handle almost anything.

Sunday, we went to church with my Aunt Marsha then headed home, and got stuck in TERRIBLE traffic coming over the pass. We finally got back and stopped by Dan and Joy's for dinner and game of Settlers of Catan, which Dan won. We got home late and now it is Monday.

Sigh.... the work week never goes as quickly as the weekend.

Thats all folks! see some of you this weekend at the Tery-Taylor Garage Sale!

God Bless.

Queen of Wickedness

That's me, at least according to Dan. Last night Jonathan and I went over to Dan and Joy's house for dinner, dessert and games, naturally we played Settlers of Catan. I made a very strategic move and in the process cut Dan off from a valuable supply of ore. He was not happy in fact he was so upset that I was dubbed the "Queen of Wickedness and Misery" and he refused to trade with me, even when my offer was better than anyone elses. Even more frustrating was that he GAVE the game away to Jonathan, who used my unfortunate position against me. Sigh. Settlers is more fun to play against Laura.
Today was out Spirit Spotlight day at work. Lee, the owner of the company was out BBQ'ing hamburgers and hotdogs and we had a fun party. I am waiting to 55 more minutes to tick by so that I cfan stop by the store an pick up a couple of things before getting ready to head to Anna's birthday party at Golden Gardens. Then after that we are off to Longview to Celebrate Jonathan's Birthday with his family!
I discovered that if an african violet gets too much sunlight its leaves will turn a weird purple color, I have since moved the poor violet to better spot and it is looking much greener.
Well that's all folks!
God Bless!

Hi!

So I have spent every day working on my medieval faire costumes after work this week. It has been crazy! I am getting too old to sew! LOL my poor body keeps whining when I have been cutting out patterns on the floor for a while. I finally finished the outer part of my costume and have cut out the bodice for Joy's bodice and even started getting it together. I am hoping that hers will bea easier since I have already suffered through making one, so far that seems to be the case, although I am positive that hers will look better than mine, simply because I will know what I am doing. I will try to take a picture of the dress for everyone to see. I still need to have the skirt hemmed though. But first I need one of those poofy crinoline slips to go under it.

Poor Little Holly bunny misses hopping around inside, but unless I put away all the sewing material I can't risk having her inside chewing on everything. So until I make it through she will have to be content with me visiting her on the deck for a while. I did pick up a couple of treats, so hopefully she will forgive me.

Well that is all I have for now! See lots of you this weekend!!

HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY LAURA!!

~God Bless!

Oh, Say Can you See...

By the dawn's early light,What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Happy Independance Day!
I love the 4th of July, the excitement, the parade, the fireworks, the food, and the opportunity to hang out in Longview with great relatives!
Jan, Linda, Teresa, Laura and my mom all let me paint their toes in Red, White and Blue! We were all very festive! Even the relatives who didn't paint their toes were dressed to the nines in Red, White and Blue.
Yay America!

Ring Of Bright Water

I can't believe that you made me watch this movie!! All I heard from everyone that is so cute and funny! Which is true, until the last few minutes where it gets VERY SAD. The mean Evil Scotsman Chops the sweet unsuspecting otter to death with a shovel. I am shocked and horrified!!! I was having a delightful day, and excited to watch a "cute movie" but instead find myself watching a brutal murder! What a terrible movie!!! Why didn't anyone at least warn me?!?!?!

After reading the reviews left my other netflix users I found that I am not the only one who feels this way:

I have to agree with the other reviews. I haven't seen this movie since I was a little girl, and I vaguely remember the beauty of it, but now that I'm almost 40, the only thing that I can clearly remember is the horror I felt when the otter is killed. That one scene is vividly etched in my memory, and brings me to tears to this day.

Parents beware! I rented this film because the lead actors are the same Travers-McKenna duo of "Born Free" fame (which we loved). This film is about an adorable otter, but it gets cruelly killed towards the end. My 6-yr old was BESIDE herself with grief. A healthy dose of "all things die" helped somewhat, but I'm sure this film will leave a lasting sad impression on my little one.

This is a wonderful movie but I had forgotten how the otter gets killed and so I didn't prepare my daughter for it. She was real upset.

Anyway that is that, I think I will go do something happy now, like housework.

See ya'll tomorrow-ish
