Bunny and Boarding

This has been an exciting few weeks!
My baby brother turned 20 years old and I realized that he is the same age that I was when I started dating the man who is now my husband. Which means that he is old enough to fall in love. That's kinda hard for a big sister to take in, what with little Teresa turning 18 this year, I am starting to feel like time is moving pretty quickly. To celebrate his birthday, Jeremiah wanted to go snowboarding, so he recruited me. I couldn't both turn him down and pass up the chance to give it a try. So I in my infinite gullibility I headed to Crystal Mountain. We paid for our lift tickets and for the equipment rental, Jeremiah showed me how to put on my boots and the later, the snowboard. He tought me how to (kinda) stand up and just barely make it onto the lift! The view from the lift was spectacular, it was a beautiful evening. The ride up was very relaxing, until we had to get off, which meant sliding onto the hill while the lift continued to move and deposit me into a snowbank. Loads of fun. I got my snowboard firmly attached and tried to stand up, 12 times, then I crawled to a beam and pulled my self up. I headed down the mountain and fell over 15 feet later. With the handy beam 15 feet above me I had to learn an alternate method of standing up with my feet firmly attached to a board. It took a few tries but I managed to discover a sideways version of standing up. managed about 10 feet before falling yet again (I am glad that snow is relatively soft) I repeated the proccess a dozen and a half times before making it down to the bottom. Then Bug wanted to try a different lift, so I being the coolest sister in the world, agreed. BIG MISTAKE - it was seriously the steepest hill in the world! I stood up at the top and attemped to glide down it as gracefully as the last hill... no such luck, I fell every 4 feet or so and most of the time couldn't even stand back up, because the hill was too steep to keep my feet under me long enough to obtain an upright position. So I slid down on my elbows and snowboard until I could stand it no longer and unclipped the board and walked down. My young and energy filled brother headed up again, while I happily played photographer. We then enjoyed a cup of hot cocoa and a light dinner and while he took in a couple of runs I returned my equipment and attempted to dry my soaking self under the bathroom hand dryers. All in all a fun, albiet painful, trip. We had fun on our drive home and enjoyed lemon cake at home with Jonathan. I think I will stick to skydiving!
Meanwhile... Holly got a new cage and we moved her in before heading out, and she spent the time hopping around her new palace. I hope you enjoy the pictures as mucha s she is enjoying her new house.

God Bless!

Snow, Ice and Levi

Life has been exciting here in Northwest Washington. We got a lot of rain, a few inches of Snow and them some crazy wind and them more rain, and now more snow and temperatures at 13 degrees this morning! Today I drove to work and eveything seemed to be alright. Then I got to work and The designer at the Kent showroom didn't feel comfortable driving in the snow, so like a good scheduler I called to reschedule her afternoon appointment. They would have none of it, so to keep everyone happy I called the designer and offered to pick her up. So I drove up the steep Renton Hill and as we headed back I managed to get stuck on some slippery icey stuff and my poor car wouldn't move! So I waited for all the impatient cars to get past me and slowly let my car back down the icy slope until I could get some traction, then carefully pulled into a safer lane and we made it to work! Whew, I hope the customer REALLY appreciates the fact that he didn't have to reschedule his appointment because of a little snow. But all is well, not I just have to take her back home again!
On a normal note, Levi is doing well and he loves to play and take walks. He has discovered sticks, particularly cedar branches. He like to find them and bring them into the house through the dog-door and then pull all the greenery off of the branch and leave it on my living room floor. He has also found an unknown plastic thing, and outdoor faucet cover, an old doggy rope toy and an nozzel that fits at the end of a garden hose, he brings them in and leaves them in the laundry room, the bedroom, and the living room. We will never need a metal detector because we have a puppy instead. Oh yeah, Levi likes the snow a lot, he is pretty cute when he goes out and romps around in it!
Well, thats all for now folks,
God Bless!

Introducing...Levi the Puppy!

Hello all! Last night on Thursday, January 4th 2007 Jonathan and I adopted a big little brother for Holly. He is a 12 week old German Shepherd/Husky puppy. He is absolutely adorable and loves to follow us around. He is growing out of his baby teeth and having a lit of fun playing tug of war with his new toys. He is really smart and seems to learn quickly, we have been practicing "sit" and "stay", and trying to learn "lay down". Today we went to Petco and picked up a few things for him, he picked out a cow-tow, which seems to be his favorite so far. His eating habits are unlike any dog I have owned yet; first of all he wanders when he eats, taking a mouthful and dropping a couple of pieces while he walks, he then "discovers" the kibble bits and pounces on them! He also never eats all his food at once, he has a bite or two, then goes back a little later for more, a 1/2 cup can last him a few hours. He likes to be around us and will follow us around the house and lay at our feet if we are boring. He learned how to use the doggy door really fast, and will wander out just to check the weather and come right back in. I think we are still working on potty training, although we havn't had a problem at our house yet, I think that the dog door is BIG help. He has piddled on my parents kitchen floor and floor of the pet store. But the gal who we adopted him from says that he won't go on carpet, apparently he is strictly a linoleum dog. LOL.
He has really big paws and should grow up to be around 100 lbs! He likes walks around the neighborhood, but doesn't like the pitbull a few doors down. We haven't actually indroduced him to Holly and I think that she will be happier not knowing that there is a dog so close. Other than the pitbull he just wants to make friends with everone and everydog he meets. He tried really hard into talking me to bring home a Pug for him to play with, the Pug's mommy said no.

Let us know what you think of our new cutie!

God Bless!
