It takes all kinds of Weather

It snowed in Western Washington, yet again! David and I slipped out for a few minutes to heck out the white stuff, he ate a fingerful and had some difficulties walking in it, but I thought we should check it out since it should be(better be!) the last snow of winter. Then barely 2 days later the sun was shining and it peaked at 60 degrees, so clad in sweatshirts Aunt Julie and I headed off to the park with David for a little exercise, and vitamin D :) We had lots of fun with the swing, slides, steps and the faux rock wall :)

Latest Adventures

Happy Thursday :) Tomorrow, once Jonathan gets home from work we will be heading to Longview for the quadruple birthday bash and our double date dance with Tom and Linda, I am rather quite excited :)

I am happy to report that David is taking lots of steps by himself and is gaining a lot of confidence as well, with just a little more balance he will be unstoppable! He is having fun putting things INTO containers as well as taking them out, at the zoo last week, Julie offered him a goldfish, he took it and put it back into the bowl! I am posting a little video of him putting his toys into a bin, so I hope you enjoy it :) Also he says "that" to everything, it is very cute and delights the gal who watch him at MOPS. If he seems something of interest, he points and says "that!" which means you should be excited by "that" too and take him closer so that he can examine "that" and maybe even touch "that". it is really cute, and can't wait to show him off to everyone in Longview this weekend :)

we go more snow today, bundled David up to spend 5 minutes walking/tripping through the snow in the front yard, he thought it was pretty fun and even swiped a finger full of the cold white stuff and found it yummy :)

David Loves Disco!

What a crazy weekend we had! Friend Dawn, along with daughter Shi, David and I all headed to Seattle on Saturday afternoon, to hit a night club- that had been turned into a baby-safe, kid friendly disco bar. It was quite the experience. It is a phenomenon that is sweeping the nation- Baby Loves Disco- and Dawn and I signed up to be the "hip moms" for a day :)

While crazy and outlandish we managed to have some fun. There was the dance floor, complete with disco ball and lights moving all around, bubble machines- which enthralled the crowd at various intervals, and loud disco music. We joined all the parents, kids, toddlers and bity babies and shook out booties :) Shi being quite mobile and an avid dance lover, was a little star, David thought we were all crazy but thought it was fun to have momma dancing around with him in arms. There was a "chill out room" with kid toys and tunnels, the music almost imperceptable next door, where you could sit, and relax for a bit. Also, baby friendly snack bar. Apple slices, carrot sticks, organic cookies and juice boxes sat, free for the munching (and spilling) We stuck around, alternating between dancing, chilling and eating for about 2 hours of the 3 hour event.

When we staggered out into the beautiful sunlight, we could barely walk and were VERY thirsty. The kids sucked down some water and fell asleep within 5 minutes of the ride home. Dawn and I chatted (and drank water) for the traffic free, hour ride back to suburbia. We decided that we were glad we went, we had fun, but it wa all a bit odd.

Next time we get together, we will be baking cookies and making homemade peppermint ice-cream. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Celebrate Good Times, Come on!

David got a special t-shirt just for his birthday- the slogan is good for a year, but I think it will only fit him for a month or two! He seemed to enjoy the festivities, despite lacking a bit in the nap department. He was a tad bit bewildered when everyone sang to him and waited with baited breath for him to eat his cake. But all in all, a very good day :)

This is his giraffe cake... technically it was eaten by the guests... he got his very own cake, modeled after his frog bank that he got from his great granddad.

The frog cake and its willing model :)

The one and only birthday boy- having fun with his aunt Julie :)

Enjoy the photos and God Bless!

David's first job...

Gainfully employed in the business of licking frosting off of spatulas! This was the frosting for his first birthday party, he seemed to approve :)

He seemed really happy when I told him that spatula and one day, beater licking, would be his job for quite a while :)

Sunny Day at the Park

David had a lot of fun and I got a lot done around the house these last two days. Grandma Jan came up to play with David, and helped me out to boot. We took a rbeak to enjoy the sunshine, David had fun walking around and playing peek-a-boo through all the nooks and crannies :)

First Haircut... lots of momma weeping went into this decision.

Okay! we did it... David got his first haircut, bless the salon they gave us a lock of his hair a certificate for his baby book- I am pretty sure this is to keep mom's everywhere from running out with their kids screaming "never!!!"

So... okay it was not quite that traumatic for me once we got there, but David kinda wished I had held out a while longer.

It took 2 packs of gummi fruit snacks to console him just barely enough to get the job done, and with the amount of crying I am pretty sure that the very nice and agreeable gal earned the $12 they charge to take off a quarter inch of baby hair.

Once she got it cut... after letting him take the comb (she had a backup) she added a little gel to spike it up on top, and boy there is nothing cuter :)

We went to the zoo again later on that day, and I think he forgave us for the early morning torture.

Enjoy the photos and God Bless!
